The event commemorates Juan Luis Tienda, an inspirational University of Michigan law student who was tragically killed in a car accident shortly before beginning his final year of law school. Juan Luis was not only an aspiring legal scholar, but also a tireless advocate for the legal rights of migrant workers and a rising leader in the Latino community. Each year students, alumni, faculty and generous donors gather to remember his powerful impact and honor those who follow in his footsteps.
